Day 94

Well I got a lot less done due to a co-worker giving me allergy med.. She told me it was non drowsy and boy was she wrong. I fell a sleep in my car in my works parking lot. So when I finally got home I went straight to bed and didn't get up again til 6pm!
At 7:30 I met with Max ( the guys who is making our wedding cake) to discuss what I would like our wedding cake to look like. We are having a cake tasting in three weeks and I am super excited about trying 7 different cakes, and we are going to have 11 cakes. That's right people, 11 Cakes one for Tim, Me and the wedding party and 10 smaller cakes for each table as center pieces  as well as dessert.
So I really didn't have much of a productive day but at least I got something done.

On a different note one of my bridesmaids has been busy making paper flowers for the reception. Man is she doing a great job.

Day 96

Well Today I continue to work on getting our wedding invites ready to be sent out. I also call the hotel to set up a block for guest that would like to stay in a near by hotel (you can tell I've done this before).
Tim and I are also going to register today, and pick out mulch for our yard. Exciting I know. I really don't know if you guys are following this Blog or like it even. Leave some comments and let me know what you think!

There was a man who said, "I never knew what happiness was until I got married.... and then it was too late!"

Day 97

Yesterday I didn't do a thing except have a great time with my friends. I really needed to get out and have some fun. the stress of everything has been slowly building up and I just needed to get out there and have fun. I did talk to my DJ for the wedding and figured out a price that he would do our wedding for. Which was a bit our our budget but I know he will do a great Job. Mandy and her step brother Dan then brought up how they wanted to pay for the DJ as a wedding gift for Tim and I. I really love my friends! so I guess I did get one thing done. Locked down a DJ for the wedding. I still have to come up with a list of songs for him this week.

Today I went out and bought our wedding invitations at Target. They have these Letter Impress do it your self wedding Invitations for cheap. So I got home all excited to get another thing on my list to do done. This is where I ran into my first problem of the day.

I went to set up our printer that Tim's dad gave us (an old one that he had laying around the house) only to find that they don't make a driver for that model for Vista( Thanks Vista for sucking so much). So I went back to Target and bought a new printer, or at least I thought it was new. I got it home opened the box only to discover that it was a returned printer and the only thing in the box was the printer, no start up ink, power cord or driver CD. At this point I knew I would have to make another trip to Target the third one of the day. Called the store and they had one more left and I headed back to Target to exchange my "new" printer. So now after hours of hassle and am now just starting to make my invites.
I guess that's what I get for taking a day off. but really all you can do is laugh at what bad luck I have had today, what else can you do be mad and make yourself more upset.

Day 98 Part One

Well today I have plans to go out with my Ladies to Alter/Nation: breaking down the barrier between consumer and creator. This elusive mash-up of an exchange, do-it-yourself activities, styling stations and fashion shows gives you the opportunity to take an hands on approach to creation and evolution of your own wardrobe.  So I am pretty excited about it.
I started working out in Dec. to get in shape for my wedding and I have gone down two dress sizes!  I am getting rid of my old clothes that I don't fit in to anymore and getting new clothes that do fit. Since it's raining today I really can't do any yard work so I might as well enjoy my day with fashion. Tonight I think I am going to do some priming and getting the walls ready for color. I can't wait! I am so ready for the inside of our home to be finished.

Day 99 Part Two

Well I got home today and got right down to work I put garden edging around Once of the bushes in the front yard. It was a lot harder then I had thought. I secretly think my neighbors think Tim is scared of the world cause they know my name and they see me working in the yard all the time. Tim comes home from work and he just locks himself in the office and does school work. Anyways lets get back on track. Tonight I am also going to call my potential DJ, Anton to work out the details of his services.

I am sure that my blogs are not the funnest to read ( I am aware that I am not a very good writes. you can keep your snickering down to a minimum).

Day 99 Part One

Well Last night Tim and I had a discussion about the yard/house work. I can't believe how he thinks things can wait. We only have 99 days and I know he has school and work, but really all I ask is that he spends One day a weekend the whole day on projects around the house. I really think that is fair. I can't do this by my self and yet I am. People keep offering to help but when it comes down to it most people ( not all) are just saying it to be nice. Only three friends have actually came over to help ( I love them so much) and everyone else keeps offering but never follows through. I don't care if you really don't want to help just don't offer if you really don't entend on helping.
Anyways back to work so I don't know what to do today because on the radio they said it might rain. so if it does I am going to do some priming on the walls and maybe take down the wall paper in the bathroom or the kitchen maybe I'll finish ripping up the carpet, not much carpet left to rip up so maybe I'll just get that out of the way and then finish taking down the trim.
If it doesn't rain and we have another beautiful day I am going to put garden liners ( the plastic thing that boarders gardens, tress, bushes) around the bushes in the front yard and I may get Tim to go to the store and pick out what color mulch we should get with me. That seems like a big project in it's self, with two bushes to do I'll leave that out door goal at that one task.

Day 100 Part 2

Well I didn't really have a productive day but I did get somethings done. I went to the store and got two plants for one of my gardens, and those plastic liners that you put on the edge of flower beds or around bushes or trees. I went home and planted the flowers and finished setting the rock that line the flower beds I did some weeding and notice a tree growing out of a bush so I cut it down. Didn't do a lot but at least I made progress. I'll be okay as long as I keep moving forward.

Day 100 part 1

Okay it is day 100. Just to bring you up to date here is the back story.

The house
My soon to be husband Tim and I moved in to our house Sept 24Th 2009. We bought the house from a very nice old lady. The inside of the house is well kept but very much out of date. It was built in 1969. The yard on the other hand was very over grown. All the gardens had bulbs in every one of the garden beds and I don't think any of them have been kept up for over 6 years. Along the east side of the back yard along our fence is a tree line and a lot of little black berry trees growing. Keep in mind I am sure that they were not planted by the previous owners but naturally popped up after years of neglect.

Right away I could see the potential in our new found home. I just didn't realize at the time how much time and work it was going to take to update this house.

The inside of our house had wall paper on every wall and Ugly blue stained carpet in much of the house. The upstairs bathroom was no better with and out of date shower/ bathtub sliding doors and carpeting. Over the winter we did a lot of the work in doors: Removing the wall paper, removing the trim/ base boards and ripping up the carpet. Now we just have to put on the finishing touches throughout most of the house. Unfortunately we still need to start on the bathroom and remove the wall paper from the kitchen.

The wedding

Tim and I got engaged July 5Th 2008. We decided to Buy a house in the winter of 2008 and put the wedding off until we had a house. After we moved in we decided we could save money if we had our reception in our backyard (this would also give us a bigger budget to update our home) we decided to have our wedding at the Como Zoo conservatory.
The reception is going to be in our back yard, no dinner is going to be held but rather have cocktails and h'orderves. The wedding party is going to wear Black cocktail dresses (of their choice) and Black suites with white shirts and black ties. We are going to have severs with black pants and white dress shirts, an open bar with a bartender and a tent with a dance floor and seating. I am trying to keep this wedding as low cost as possible so I have looked for help from friends whose profession applies, my friend Alan who is a chef, Anton who is a DJ, and a local bartender who bar tends at a bar that I go to every once and awhile. Also a friend of mine had gotten married last year and she had a friend named Max who baked her cake for cost and he was willing to give me the same deal (of course I will be giving him a little extra money for his time).

Now that you know the back story we can now start on the projects we will embark on together for the next 100 Days.

I have never kept a blog so we will have to see how I do on this. I will also be posting pictures and videos of my days.
